2022 golfing season is coming soon and the Men’s League will be starting as well!!! This seasons league will begin Tuesday, June 7th and run every Tuesday until Tuesday August 30th. Then on September 6th, the final Tuesday, we will not only crown our League Champions along with dinner, but we will be doing an every man for themselves Shootout!!!
USGA handicaps are mandatory to make the field equitable each week and the handicap fee is part of the Mens League Fee each season so each person will have a handicap and we will automatically apply your score each week for you so you do not have to worry about it. The fee for the season is $60 and this includes weekly prizes, the dinner, and shootout prizes at the end of the season. GVGC members need only pay to ride if you choose or take personal cart if you have one. Non members will need to pay $10/$20 each week($10 to walk or $20 to ride) to participate in addition to the $60 league fee.
Format this year will be slightly different than last year as we will have no team format. This season will be all individual and you will know the format for the season when the season starts. Each week up until 3pm each Tuesday you call in and sign up with you you are playing with that day. For example, if that days format if 2 man best ball, call up the shop with the guy you are playing with…4 man scramble would be the same thing-just call in with four guys comprising your group for that round. Creating your group each week in accordance to the format may take some “mixing up” of playing partners each week so as to better your odds of winning that weeks format.
We will be doing skins again this year and after each week, we will tally up the earnings of each person and create a Money Leaders board so you can see where you are in relation to the rest of the field. All monies will be in pro shop credits applied to your account in the pro shop. Without a team format, this allows you to play with anyone each Tuesday and the winnings count towards your individual standings against the filed. At the end of the season, we will split the field in accordance to handicaps and create 3 mini Money Leader Boards and crown each leader.
